Mental Health & Wellbeing
Because farmers support us all – we want to support you
Farming is demanding - physically, financially, and emotionally.
It often means long hours, working alone, and carrying the weight of a family business on your shoulders.
At the Farm Business Survey, we recognise these pressures. While we’re here to gather data, we’re also committed to being part of a supportive farming community.
This page signposts free, confidential services that are here to listen and help.

Hub of Hope – Mental Health Support Near You
The Hub of Hope is a free, UK-wide directory of mental health services you can quickly and easily access on your phone. Simply enter your postcode to see support available near you – whether you’re looking for professional counselling, a local group, or a helpline in a crisis.
You can use it to find help for yourself, or to support someone else who’s struggling.
How it helps:
- Search by postcode or location
- Shows both NHS and voluntary services
- Works from any mobile or desktop device
- Quick access to helplines, counselling, and community services
You’re not alone – and you don’t need to wait for a crisis
We encourage all FBS participants — and anyone in farming — to reach out for support when it’s needed. The services listed here are free, confidential, and judgement-free.
Even just talking can be a big step forward. If you’d prefer to speak to someone you already know, you can also reach out to your Research Officer, who will make sure you get connected to the right support if needed.
